Race, Unconscious Bias & Mindfulness

  • New York Insight Meditation Center 28 West 27th Street New York, NY, 10001 United States (map)

Race is both a construct of pseudoscience and a lived social reality that leads to great inequities and injustices.

While conscious racism is no longer accepted by most in our society, unconscious bias is less easy to see and understand.

In this evening session we will explore how mindfulness and the Buddhadharma can help us bring awareness and clarity to the constructs & biases around race that exist in society and within each of us (either as external racism or as internalized oppression), so that we can live with more love, wisdom and compassion.
